Update! More money, a shirt and a calendar!

This one is from mom, I try to let the posts be Josie's words, my typing, but it was a late, busy night with AWANAS.

Josie is still collecting for AAR, Abandoned Animal Rescue of Tomball. She now has $36!! What makes me happiest is that most of it is coming from her; she will go get more money out of her piggy bank to add to the collection and tonight she put in $12 of her own! (She usually is afraid to spend her money, so that's huge!) When the tooth fairy came, she shared her money; she put in a $5 and took change (I can't remember how much, but she didn't keep it all). She also got a couple of dollars from Grandpa for good report card grades. Even her friend Morgan gave her a dollar. Tonight she mentioned what a great feeling it gave her putting in her $12.

In the picture, you see that Josie got a special care package from Aunt Rebecca; she got a hooded sweatshirt for the cold weather, a calendar(it has BEAUTIFUL photos of horses), and her collection jar.

It's not too late to help her help the animals, we'll continue for the rest of January at least and she may deliver the money in person in March over Spring Break. Thanks for everyone's encouragement! If you donate through their site, let me know! I would like Josie to see the difference that she's making. The link to AAR is a couple of posts down.

Her money has grown! woo hoo!

Josie's $10 has now turned into $21 thanks to friends and family so far that have wanted to add to the cause. We have made a collection jar with a picture of Josie wearing her AAR t shirt in case anyone wants to add to it throughout January...

A dog miracle!

Mystery, a 3 legged German Shepard, just got adopted from Abandoned Animal Rescue Center! My aunt Rebecca was so excited because no one would take Mystery. Aunt Rebecca is a volunteer there. She is Mom's 1st cousin and my 2nd cousin.

Aunt Rebecca said that they just got their new building opened.
There are two big fenced in areas for the dogs to run and play and a big room for the cats to play in. If you would like to see pictures of the animals in thier new shelter, go to AAR's website at :
http://www.aarescue.com/

Here I am with my Aunt Rebecca and her horse, Dolly. We both love animals. If you click on the picture, it will get bigger so you can see us better. Then just click "back" at the top of the page to come back here.

My mom and dad came up with an idea. Every month, my parents will give me ten bucks for me to donate to some place that I want to. This month, I will be donating my ten bucks to Aunt Rebecca's shelter, in other words, Abandoned Animal Rescue of Tomball (address/info on their website). So, we were thinking that we could start this blog to tell other people about the great things that we can help and maybe other people will want to help them, too!
